G. E. Newbegin
Writer. Seeker. Beard haver.
I live and seek to understand why – through fantasy, of course!
I love stories – movies, TV shows, video games – but especially books. I do prefer fantasy, sci-fi, and horror (and all three of the grimdark variety), but I’m generally easy to please.
I’ve also written for as long as I could remember, but it wasn’t until my 40s that I realised that this meant I wanted to actually be a writer. Go figure. You live, you learn… sometimes.
So I took this newfound learning and applied it in the 2020th year of our lord (what a strange thing to say) — amongst all the craziness of the COVID-19 situation. And within that year I was able to write, produce a further 2 drafts (including beta reads) and hopefully a professional line edit, so I’m pretty proud of that for a first effort. It’s up to you to decide if that first effort was worthwhile. I’m proud, regardless.
Anyway – writing isn’t easy. But it’s not hard either. I’ve learned a lot over this past year, and I’ve had a million questions along the way. I want to share some of what I’ve learned, and I hope it may answer some of the questions that other budding new writers may have.
So I’m here for two reasons – to entertain through my writing, to share what I’ve learned, and to discuss my favourite things!
Three. Three reasons.
